WIND, WATER, LIGHT Continuums of living space. High above our heads the winds eddy and swirl. Ethereal gases of the ozone whose buoyant molecules, energized by the sun's rays, bounce at the highest point from earth's gravity, kissing the silent void of space. Below, clouds billowing fantastically high, pulsate with electricity veining through their purple core. they spill ion-salted tears into the sea, on the hungry mountains, the resonating drum of the planes below. The splash of their pelting and the great churning of waves mixes the life-giving atmosphere into the aqueous current. Moon, stars, sun, polar rotations, even the flight of a butterfly, all choreograph these passionate dancers into the synchronized rhythms that define our biosphere, and hence there is one rule: flow. The need to emulate, contemplate, and harmonize with flow has become a necessity for a humanity trapped into artificial and static routines. It is a need borne of the healthy urge to live within the fullness of greater awareness. Flow, balanced and harmonized, is the essence of these sculptures. Wind is the source of choice for most of these sculptures. It is free, ever changing, and using it taps right in to the planet's pulse. Water, light and electricity are other available sources for activation and flow. In settings where wind is not an option (such as indoor sites) light, water, and electricity creates the possibility of movement. Their unique qualities enhance the ambiance of many settings. Because they operate on the principle of flow, most of the "wind" sculptures can be transformed to work with one or more of these other sources. Below are some examples of sculptures operating with more than just wind, for indoors and out.
